# Keys & Exports

## Keys

Players can rebind these in FiveM's key bindings (Settings > Key Bindings > FiveM):

* **Open the pause menu**: unbound by default (Esc, P and Start always work); set `Config.Esc.OpenKey` for a default.
* **Pause menu: apply settings (mouse)** (left mouse button) and **(keyboard)** (Enter): these make the Apply button work instantly and do nothing unless the pointer or the keyboard focus is on Apply. Keep them on Left mouse button and Enter; if a player moves them, settings are applied through GTA's settings screen instead.

## Client exports

```lua
exports.daddy_pausemenu:Open('map')          -- pause, map, settings, stats, photo, rules
exports.daddy_pausemenu:Close()
exports.daddy_pausemenu:IsOpen()
exports.daddy_pausemenu:GetScreen()
exports.daddy_pausemenu:Suppress(true)       -- hold the menu off while your resource uses Esc as "cancel"
exports.daddy_pausemenu:Suppress(false)      -- counted per resource and cleared when your resource stops
```

`LocalPlayer.state.daddyPauseOpen` is true while the menu is open, and the client event `daddy_pausemenu:visibility` fires with true / false: hide your HUD on it.

## Server exports (Stats screen)

```lua
exports.daddy_pausemenu:IncrementStat(source, 'ROBBERIES', 1)   -- your own counters: robberies, arrests, races...
exports.daddy_pausemenu:SetStat(source, 'RANK', 40)              -- the same counters, set outright
exports.daddy_pausemenu:AddSkillPoints(source, 'stamina', 5)     -- gyms, books, rewards (-100..100)
exports.daddy_pausemenu:ResetSkills(source)                      -- or ResetSkills(source, 'stamina')
exports.daddy_pausemenu:GetStats(source)                         -- { citizenid, skills, values }
```

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://daddy-studios.gitbook.io/daddy-studios-docs/scripts/daddy-pausemenu/keys-and-exports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
