# Daddy Voice Volume

Free per-player voice volume for pma-voice. Turn one nearby player up or down, only for yourself.

![Daddy Voice Volume](https://2487709298-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FqcEXX242M9YYHjASblGi%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-c00fb1f9e82b4a389b1641c500e934232e3d3cbb%2Fdaddy-voicevolume-thumbnail.jpg?alt=media)

Someone next to you is too loud, or you can barely hear them? Press **F10**, pick the player and move the slider. The change is only on your side, nobody else hears a difference.

Daddy Voice Volume is **free and open source**. Download it from [GitHub](https://github.com/lKrypton/daddy-voicevolume/releases/tag/v1.0.0).

## Features

* **Per-player volume** from 5% to 100% (50% is normal), only for you
* **Nearby list** with character names, IDs and distance, live while the panel is open
* **Masked players** show as "Unknown Man" or "Unknown Woman"
* **Arrow above the player** you point at in the list
* **Search** by name or ID, drag and resize the panel, it remembers its place
* **Reset voice** button and `/fixvoice` to reconnect Mumble when you cannot hear people
* **pma-voice stays in charge**: talking ranges, radio and phone calls work as before
* **Character names** from Qbox, QBCore or ESX, detected on its own; standalone works too

## Requirements

* pma-voice
* ox\_lib
* Optional: qbx\_core, qb-core or es\_extended for character names

## Installation

1. Download `daddy-voicevolume.zip` from the [GitHub release](https://github.com/lKrypton/daddy-voicevolume/releases/tag/v1.0.0) and put the `daddy-voicevolume` folder in your `resources` folder.
2. Start it after pma-voice and ox\_lib in your `server.cfg`:

```cfg
ensure pma-voice
ensure ox_lib
ensure daddy-voicevolume
```

3. Restart the server. Players press **F10** or type `/voicevolume`. The key can be changed in the FiveM key bindings.

## Configuration

```lua
Config.Language = 'en'                   -- 'en' or 'tr', see locales/
Config.Framework = 'auto'                -- 'auto', 'qbx', 'qb', 'esx' or 'standalone' (only used for character names)
Config.UseFiveMNameFallback = false      -- show the FiveM name when no character name is found (otherwise "Player 12")
Config.OpenCommand = 'voicevolume'       -- command that opens and closes the panel
Config.OpenKey = 'F10'                   -- default key, players can change it in the FiveM key bindings
Config.FixVoiceCommand = 'fixvoice'      -- command that resets the voice connection, false to disable
Config.ListRange = 18.0                  -- players listed within this distance (m)
Config.RefreshInterval = 1500            -- list refresh while the panel is open (ms)
Config.ReapplyInterval = 200             -- how often custom volumes are checked against radio/phone and range (ms)
Config.MinVolume = 0.05                  -- lowest volume, 5% (players cannot be fully muted)
Config.DefaultVolume = 0.5               -- 50% = normal volume, no change applied
Config.MaxVolume = 1.0                   -- highest volume, 100% = twice as loud
Config.MarkerColor = { 244, 63, 94, 230 } -- arrow above the hovered player (r, g, b, alpha)
```

Texts live in `locales/en.lua` and `locales/tr.lua`. Copy one to add a language, keep the same keys and set `Config.Language`. A missing key falls back to English.

## How it works

The panel only changes the gain of one player on your own client (`MumbleSetVolumeOverrideByServerId`). It applies only while that player is inside their pma-voice talking range. Outside that range, or on a shared radio or phone channel, pma-voice decides the volume as usual. Nothing is saved, the volumes reset when you reconnect.

## Troubleshooting

* **The panel does not open**: check that pma-voice and ox\_lib start before the resource.
* **Names show as "Player 12"**: no framework was found. Set `Config.Framework`, or turn on `Config.UseFiveMNameFallback` to show FiveM names.
* **I cannot hear someone**: press the reset button in the panel or type `/fixvoice`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://daddy-studios.gitbook.io/daddy-studios-docs/free-scripts/daddy-voicevolume.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
