# Daddy Intoxication

Free server-authoritative drunk system with drink profiles, drunk driving, nausea, blackouts and muffled voice.

![Daddy Intoxication](https://2487709298-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FqcEXX242M9YYHjASblGi%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d287daf76fff00c15fb7dffbab763a4d2b009d85%2Fdaddy-intoxication-thumbnail.jpg?alt=media)

Players get more drunk with every drink. The screen, walking, driving and even their voice change with it, and they sober up over time or with water and coffee. Everything is decided on the server, players cannot sober themselves up by triggering client events.

{% hint style="success" %}
Daddy Intoxication is **free and open source**. Download it from [GitHub](https://github.com/lKrypton/daddy-intoxication/releases/tag/v1.0.0).
{% endhint %}

## Features

* **4 stages** from buzzed to blackout, 0–100 alcohol points with hysteresis so effects do not flicker on the edge
* **5 drink profiles** (beer, wine, cocktail, shot, moonshine), each with its own screen filter, camera shake, walk style, nausea and blackout tendency
* **Drunk driving**: `sway` (default drift you have to correct), `reduced_control` (short moments of delayed steering), `inverted`, or `off`
* **Stumbling and falling** while walking or running at the heaviest stage
* **Nausea and vomiting**: an optional ox\_lib skill check, animation, particles, a little health and alcohol lost on a fail
* **Blackouts** at the highest stage: the screen fades out and the player passes out for a few seconds
* **Muffled voice** for other players through pma-voice (radio and phone keep their own effects)
* **Recovery items**: water, coffee, milk, ayran, or add your own
* **Optional per-character tolerance**, BAC value for police/HUD scripts, a breathalyzer example included
* **Saved per character** without a database, offline time is metabolised
* **Never overrides another resource's screen filter** (for example a death screen)
* Qbox, QBCore, ESX or standalone · ox\_inventory, qb-inventory or ESX usable items
* English and Turkish

## Requirements

* OneSync
* ox\_lib
* Optional: Qbox, QBCore or ESX
* Optional: ox\_inventory or qb-inventory
* Optional: pma-voice, for the muffled voice effect

## Installation

1. Download `daddy-intoxication.zip` from the [GitHub release](https://github.com/lKrypton/daddy-intoxication/releases/tag/v1.0.0) and put the `daddy-intoxication` folder in your `resources` folder.
2. Start it after ox\_lib, your framework, your inventory and pma-voice:

```cfg
ensure ox_lib
ensure qbx_core        # or qb-core / es_extended
ensure ox_inventory     # if used
ensure pma-voice        # if used
ensure daddy-intoxication
```

3. Make sure the drink and recovery items in `config.lua` exist in your inventory and are usable. With `qb-inventory` or ESX, items another script already made usable are handled automatically or listed in the console, see [Configuration](https://github.com/lKrypton/daddy-marketplace-docs/tree/main/daddy-studio/scripts/daddy-intoxication/configuration.md).

## Configuration

The full config is documented inline in `config.lua`: stages and hysteresis, metabolism, drink profiles and points, recovery items, visual effects, driving mode, falling, nausea, vomiting, blackout, voice, tolerance, BAC, persistence and the admin/debug commands.

```lua
Config.Locale = 'en'             -- 'en' or 'tr', see locales/
Config.Framework = 'auto'        -- 'auto', 'qbox', 'qbcore', 'esx' or 'standalone'
Config.Inventory = 'auto'        -- 'auto', 'ox_inventory', 'framework' or 'none'
Config.Driving.Mode = 'sway'     -- 'off', 'sway', 'reduced_control' or 'inverted'
Config.Tolerance.Enabled = false -- optional per-character tolerance
Config.Voice.Enabled = true      -- muffled voice through pma-voice
```

Add a drink or a recovery item:

```lua
Config.Drinks.my_custom_drink = { alcohol = 18, profile = 'cocktail' }
Config.RecoveryItems.my_soda = { reduction = 6 }
```

With `qb-inventory` or ESX, an item another resource already made usable is handled like this:

* **QBCore**: the existing callback still runs and the alcohol is added after it. Start your consumables script before `daddy-intoxication`.
* **ESX**: ESX does not allow chaining two usable-item callbacks, so the item is left to the other resource and listed in the server console. Call `exports['daddy-intoxication']:ConsumeItem(source, itemName)` from that resource's own use callback, or rename the item in `config.lua`.

## Integration

```lua
-- Server exports
exports['daddy-intoxication']:GetPlayerAlcohol(source)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:GetPlayerAlcoholStage(source)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:GetPlayerBAC(source)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:IsPlayerIntoxicated(source)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:AddPlayerAlcohol(source, amount, profile)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:ResetPlayerAlcohol(source)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:ConsumeItem(source, itemName)
-- Client exports (read-only, alcohol can only change on the server)
exports['daddy-intoxication']:GetAlcohol()
exports['daddy-intoxication']:GetAlcoholStage()
exports['daddy-intoxication']:IsIntoxicated()
exports['daddy-intoxication']:SetActionsBlocked(key, blocked) -- pause vomit/blackout/falls for your own script
-- Events
AddEventHandler('daddy-intoxication:server:stageChanged', function(source, newStage, oldStage) end)
AddEventHandler('daddy-intoxication:client:stageChanged', function(newStage, oldStage) end)
```

A ready-to-copy breathalyzer command for police scripts is included at `examples/breathalyzer.lua` (not loaded by the resource).

## Troubleshooting

* **A death screen or other script's screen filter gets interrupted**: it should not happen, Daddy Intoxication only fades or clears a timecycle modifier it set itself and never replaces one another resource is showing. If it still does, make sure both resources are on their latest version.
* **An item does nothing**: check the server console on start for items left to another resource (ESX), see [Configuration](#configuration).
* **Voice is not muffled for others**: pma-voice must be started before `daddy-intoxication`, and `Config.Voice.Enabled` must be `true`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://daddy-studios.gitbook.io/daddy-studios-docs/free-scripts/daddy-intoxication.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
